Discover the Magic of Es Vedrá with a Private Transfer
Today we want to tell you about Es Vedrá, one of the must-see places when visiting Ibiza for the first time and one of the spots we always recommend to our clients who book our private transfer and minibus services in Ibiza.
Es Vedrá is a spectacular limestone islet rising from the sea, located less than 2 km from the coast on the southwest side of the island. With a height of approximately 388 metres and a surface area of around 80 hectares, its dramatic vertical shape offers one of the most breathtaking panoramas in Ibiza, especially at sunset.
Right next to it is Es Vedranell, a smaller islet 104 metres high. Together they form the majestic outline of Es Vedrá, often compared to the silhouette of a dragon emerging from the Mediterranean Sea.
A must-visit place for locals and travellers
Every year, both tourists and locals visit Es Vedrá to experience this unique place full of beauty, mystery and magnetism. Directly opposite the islet lies the famous Cala d’Hort beach, a perfect spot to spend the day swimming in crystal-clear waters, enjoying local cuisine and taking unforgettable photos of Es Vedrá.
The best viewpoints to see Es Vedrá
Along Ibiza’s southwest coast, there are several natural viewpoints from which you can admire Es Vedrá from different perspectives. In recent years, some of the most popular access points have been closed to protect the environment and prevent overcrowding, making it increasingly difficult to reach the viewpoints independently.
One of the best-known spots is the Torre d’es Savinar viewpoint, a former defence tower built in 1756. From here, you can enjoy some of the best panoramic views of Es Vedrá, and it has become one of the favourite places to watch the sunset.
A place of energy, myths and spirituality
Seeing Es Vedrá rising from the sea creates a powerful feeling of peace, magic and positive energy. For this reason, many people use their visit to meditate, relax and reconnect with nature, as Es Vedrá is considered a spiritual place by many visitors.
Over the years, countless stories, myths and legends have surrounded Es Vedrá. Some say it is one of the most magnetic points on Earth and that visiting it helps people “recharge their energy”.
According to ancient mythology, Es Vedrá is also associated with the goddess Tanit, a mother deity linked to fertility and the moon, reinforcing its mystical character.
Why visit Es Vedrá with a private transfer
Es Vedrá has inspired travellers, artists and locals for centuries, and today people from all over the world include it in their Ibiza itinerary. However, as it is part of a protected natural reserve and one of the island’s most visited areas, access has become increasingly complicated, especially from April to October.
Currently:
-
Many access roads and paths are closed
-
There is no public transport to the viewpoints
-
There are no official parking areas
-
Mobile signal is limited in some zones
For all these reasons, the best way to visit is to book a private transfer to Es Vedrá.
